Michael Price is a Local History Associate at the Springfield-Greene County Library. A former Seasonal Park Ranger at Wilson's Creek National Battlefield, he has a Master of Arts Degree in History from Missouri State University. His article, edited with Jeffrey Patrick, “Life With The Mountain Feds: The Civil War Reminiscences of William McDowell, 1st Arkansas Cavalry.” appeared in the Autumn 2005 issue of Arkansas Historical Quarterly. Michael is currently writing a regimental history of the 1st Arkansas Cavalry (U.S.). His other research interests include Missouri during World War I and the history of auto racing in the Ozarks.
