Missourians actively contributed to various aspects of the war effort.

Missouri civilians volunteered in the Y.M.C.A. and the American Red Cross. Missouri sent 156,232 soldiers “over there” to serve in the war; more than 11,000 of those became casualties and five received the Medal of Honor. This database contains information and service records for Missouri's World War I veterans and civilians who supported the war effort.
