[March 23, 1918] Dearest Mother, Well, here we are in sight of little New York, We are still on the train & just across the Hudson from the old berg. Have seen many interesting sights - a camoflauged ship a few minutes ago and some new ship yards & ships besides the skyscrapers & statue of liberty, etc. The people along the route go wild over the sight of soldiers. Were given fruit, sandwitches, candy by women belonging to various societies at the towns where we stopped. We left Ft. Sill & traveled via Kansas City, Rock Island Chicago Cleveland
