Description

This World War I poster is part of a larger collection of propaganda material issued throughout Missouri during the war. These artfully crafted posters were distributed to help recruit men for the Navy and Marines, raise money for the war effort, and sustain public morale. This poster depicts nine soldiers in Navy and Marine uniforms using signal flags and was used to encourage people to donate books to soldiers.
