Marines serve at sea PW Soldiers of the Navy U.S. MARINES! Marines are trained as infantrymen, artillerymen, engineers, airmen and signalmen. They are also trained in in many of the duties of the sailor. Land-Sea-Sky Artillerymen Signalmen Airmen Engineers The wide range of their usefulness has sent them first to the front in every war, or near war, in which the United States has engaged. Description
This World War I poster is part of a larger collection of propaganda material issued throughout Missouri during the war. These artfully crafted posters were distributed to help recruit men for the Navy and Marines, raise money for the war effort, and sustain public morale. This poster encouraged men to join the U.S. Marines by depicting the different work Marines did in the service. The illustrations depict a battleship, a soldier bearing a rifle, soldiers firing artillery, an aircraft, soldiers bearing flags, and soldiers building a bridge.
