OUR COUNTRY IS ASKING OF WOMEN SERVICE AS_Farmers, Mechanics, Nurses and Doctors, Munitions Workers, Yeomen, Gas Makers, Mine Workers, Bell Boys, Messengers, Conductors, Motormen, Army Cooks, Telegraphers, Ambulance Drivers, Advisors to the Council of National Defense – and The Country Is Getting It! The Woman’s Committee, Council of National Defense, will Speak of this Work At Sojourners Club House On Thursday at 4. P.M.

Description

This World War I poster is part of a larger collection of propaganda material issued throughout Missouri during the war. These artfully crafted posters were distributed to help recruit men for the Navy and Marines, raise money for the war effort, and sustain public morale. This poster encouraged women to join the fight and serve their county in a number of different ways, and consists mostly of text with an American flag at the top.
