NATIONAL GUARD OF THE UNITED STATES RECRUITING SERVICE FOR Missouri Infantry, 1st Regiment (St. Louis Regiment) 2nd Regiment (Southwest Missouri) 3rd Regiment (Kansas City) 4th Regiment (North and Southeast Missouri) Missouri Field Artillery, Battery “A” (St. Louis Battery) Battery “B” (Kansas City Battery) Battery “C” (Independence Battery) Missouri Hospital Corps, Missouri Infantry, Unassigned, for Recruiting Service All of these organizations are in service at Laredo, Texas, where all recruits except those enlisted for the recruiting service will be sent after being equipped and after limited instructions at the State Mobilization Camp, Nevada, Missouri. Young men with military experience enlisted in the recruiting service for station duty and for training and instruction of recruits. Apply for information and enlistment to your Postmaster. Description
This World War I poster is part of a larger collection of propaganda material issued throughout Missouri during the war. These artfully crafted posters were distributed to help recruit men for the Navy and Marines, raise money for the war effort, and sustain public morale. This poster was used to recruit men for the National Guard. The bottom quarter of this poster has blank lines allowing individual recruiting stations the ability to complete the poster with relevant information.
