GO AND OFFER YOURSELF TO UNCLE SAM DON’T WAIT FOR HIM TO COME AFTER YOU! What is the Difference between a SLACKER and a MAN? YOU KNOW THE ANSWER 700,000 men will be accepted for service in the United States Army. In demanding Universal Service the Government provides for those who want to Volunteer. You can enlist for the period of the war only, and get your discharge when the war is over. Recruiting Stations for the United States Army: IN ST. LOUIS 3rd and Washington Ave. 3rd and Olive Sts. Market St. at Broadway, 6th, 8th,14th & 19th Sts. In East St. Louis, [Illinois], Hannibal, Kirksville, Moberly, Jefferson City, Poplar Bluff, and Cape Girardeau, [Missouri], and any 2d, 3d or 4th Class Postmaster.

Description

This World War I poster is part of a larger collection of propaganda material issued throughout Missouri during the war. These artfully crafted posters were distributed to help recruit men for the Navy and Marines, raise money for the war effort, and sustain public morale. This poster encourages young men to join the U.S. Army before Uncle Sam drafts them. The poster also includes a list of recruiting stations in Missouri.
