Slusher, Ernest W. Collection
Major Ernest W. Slusher served with a Medical Detachment associated witht the 140th Infantry of the 35th Division. Slusher was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross for meritorious service in defense of democracy while overseas in France. Slusher experienced some medical issues of his own while overseas after being gassed in the Argonne. The collection includes numerous photographs of Slusher, letters to his wife and child, Roby, who was also enlisted in the Army at that time but was stateside, photographs of a trip back to France ten years after the wars conclusion, and military and personnel documents related to Slusher's service with the A.E.F.
