Transcript

March 11, 1919. The M.C. Lilley & Co., Long and Sixth Streets, Columbus, Ohio. Gentlemen: Under date of March 4th I received a letter from you stating that Engineers Color were forwarded under date of February 26th by Express. On March 6th I wired you as follow: Twelfth Engineers Regimental Color Not Arrived Trace and Advise Immediately. Peters. Up to the present time I have not heard from you relative to failure of delivery nor have the colors been delivered by the express company. It is now almost two weeks in past the time you stated the color would be delivered. Every advantage in the purchase of the color will be lost if the color should be delivered after the ceremony to the regiment is over. Yours very truly. Secretary.
