October 29, 1918 To the Patriots of St. Louis: Under the auspices of the Belgian Babies Committee, a campaign will be inaugurated in the City of St. Louis on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 1st, 2nd and 3rd, for the purpose of raising funds for relief of the Belgian Babies. You are cordially invited to co-operate in this worthy and patriotic cause. Belgium stayed the hand of autocracy and is entitled to the gratitude of the world. The fathers of Belgian babies have made the supreme sacrifice in order that freedom, liberty and democracy might live. Hundreds of Belgian babies are dying daily for the want of food and proper nourishment. The starvation of the offspring of this patriotic nation must stop. Every patriot and red-blooded American is called up to do his part in relieving their distress. Inspired by this unparalleled misfortune and crying need for immediate help, prominent women will solicit donations on the days above mentioned and will present a tiny spray of
