Description | Photograph of a new field kitchen, a gift to General Von Hidenburg from the German Kaiser. The outstanding war General received several of these mobile field kitchens from the Kaiser, which he views before they were sent east bound to the front. This collection was compiled by Major Joseph Koch, a St. Louis, Missouri resident who served during the Punitive Expedition into Mexico with the First Missouri Infantry. During World War I, Major Koch was severely wounded in his left leg during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive while serving with the 35th Division, 137th Infantry. |
