Billeting Regulations The Government pay 1 franc a day for all billets occupied three days or more. Many of the better rooms are listed at more than 30 francs a month; if officers occupying such rooms desire to retain them they are requested to pay the difference between the price of the room and 30 francs directly to the householder as an extra charge. Description Regulations on how much billets cost, how much the government will pay for them, and exceptions for officers. This collection was compiled by Major Joseph Koch, a St. Louis, Missouri resident who served during the Punitive Expedition into Mexico with the First Missouri Infantry. During World War I, Major Koch was severely wounded in his left leg during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive while serving with the 35th Division, 137th Infantry.
