O. 146, G.H.Q., A.E.F., C.S., the person named below is permitted to {take photographs, still and motion make sketches and paintings in the area occupied by the American Army, during the period stated hereon, with the provision that all such photographs will be submitted for censorship to the Photographic Censor, Signal Corps Laboratory, Paris. INSTRUCTIONS This permit to be shown when demanded. It is not transferable and must be signed by the Chief, G-2-D. G.H.Q., A.E.F. Section XII., G.O. 146, G.H.Q., A.E.F., C.S., will be strictly complied with. This permit is not valid unless it is signed by the Chief, G-2-D G.H.Q., A.E.F., and bears the official stamp of the A.E.F. This permit is not valid if the name originally entered on it is erased and another name substituted. The loss or finding of a permit is to be reported at once to the Chief, G-2-D., G.H.Q., A.E.F. Description | Otto Higgins did not serve in the United States military, but he spent the entire span of the war in training camps and overseas with the army as a staff correspondent for the Kansas City Star. He wrote about soldiers from the Mid-West, especially Missouri and Kansas. Higgin's began his service with the old Third Regiment, and was with regiments at Camp Nichols, Fort Riley, Camp Funston, Camp Doniphan, Fort Leavenworth, Fort Sheridan, and finally in France. This is a photographic permit for Otto P. Higgins to take both still and motion photographs and make sketches and paintings in the area occupied by the American Army between the dates of October 11, 1918 and November 23, 1918. |
