663-U8 WITH THE RAINBOW DIVISION IN FRANCE MEMORIAL DAY (MAY 30, 1918) WAS CELEBRATED at Division headquarters of the Rainbow (42nd) Division with boxing and a field and track meet. The snapshot above shows the relay race which was the climax. The scene is Baccarat, France.

55-N8 WITH THE RAINBOW DIVISION IN FRANCE WAGONS OF A SUPPLY TRAIN of the American 42nd ("Rainbow") Division on the hike in the hills of the Vosges in the winter of 1917-18. It was a winter of intensive training for the first divisions to arrive, and in all sorts of weather they hiked and drilled in preparation for the coming campaigns. (117 Supply Train; hiking from Renacourt to Rolampont; December 27, 1917).
