Camp Mills [May 15, 1918] Dear Mother: Got in yesterday about 6 oclock, had a fine time on the road here came threw eight states on the way, almost all of [Camp Doniphan] is here now except the infantry they have gone over sea. they did us a dirty trick the 128th from [Camp Doniphan] came threw [Kansas City] on the way here, they were almost St. Louis men, and all troops that inlisted in [Kansas City] were shipt threw St. Louis, lots of our men that came from [Camp Funston] those who lived in St. Louis got to see their folks we changed cars at St. Louis. We expect to be here about a week to rest up before we sail, we have it pretty soft only have to report once a day at 11 oclock so we get in lots of bunk [ms illegible: 1 wd] 30 men are alowed passes to New York from 12 oclock noon untill 8 next morning I sure wish the money I telegraphed for would have reached me before we left
