HEADQUARTERS 3rd BATTALION 137th INFANTRY July 7th, 1918. SECRET. Maps. Munster 1/20000 Metzeral 1/5,000 RELIEF ORDER NO. 2. 1. In compliance with Field Order #6 Hdqrs. 69th Brigade and Field Order #2, Hdqrs. 137th Infantry, the 2d Battalion, 137th Infantry will relieve the 3d Battalion, 137th Infantry on duty in the BENOIT quarter sub sector E on the night of July 9 and 10, 1918. 2. The relief will be accomplished by units as follows: Co. E. will relieve Co. L at ALTMATT, Co. F will relieve Co. K at BRAUNKOPF, Co. G will relieve Co. I at METZERAL, Co. H will relieve Co. M at CAMP MOUNIER and KRANZ. Special units will be relieved by corresponding troops of incoming battalion. 3. The M. G. Co. 137th Infantry and Co. C. 129th M. G. Battalion now in the BENOIT quarter will not be relieved. 4. The commanding officer of each company will send the necessary guides to the camp of the 2d Battalion in the vicinity of MASSOT during the afternoon of July 9th. This detail will include one officer or competent N.C.O. who will be furnished by his company commander with an exact list of disposition of personnel. The incoming company commander is charged with making these details exactly as shown and with having the groups that proceed to the various stations in the company sector designated before dark. Outgoing company commanders will also include in their dispositions sanitary details, telephonists, T. P. S., pigeon men, etc. (Intelligence sections excepted) who are in their company area and each relieving detail will include such of these as are nearest their station. 5. Relief will be accomplished as follows: Platoons will leave the vicinity of MASSOT separated by ten minute intervals and groups larger than two squads must be separate by at least fifty yards. Platoons from Co. E will start from MASSOT at 8:30 P.M. Platoons from Co. G will start from MASSOT at 9:15 P.M. Platoons from Co. F will start from MASSOT at 10:00 P.M. Platoons from Co. H. will start from MASSOT at 10,45 P.M. Every man will
