Orders in case of bombardment by Yperite Gas shells. General considerations. In the area, a gas attack is possible in the bombardment zone (by shells 77 or 195) can not be very efficacious on the slopes of the Kiosk or of 664, but the bombardments by means of torpedoes must by foreseen. (No special orders for this eventuality) General Orders. In case of a suspect bombardment (weak explosion, absence of smell, or slight mustard smell) the alarm must be given at once by the first man who can state it. (Klacson bells) The chief of the post will be advised immediately. He will inform the commanding officer of the company (connecting men, telephone) and the adjacent posts (runners). Particular rules for the unit under bombardment. 1. When the alarm is given, all men fix up their respirators, tighten their clothes on the wrist and round the neck, so as to prevent the penetration of the gas. 2. The places where the shells have fallen are immediately searched for, surrounded with a net work (pegs, wire) - (placards to warn) Lime Chloride must be poured out on those places. 2.
