Wagons 12 road LAUTENBACH-SENGERN 3. Railroad-Standard gauge. -2 trains from MEINHEIM to COLMAR. 2 trains from MEINHEIM to MULHOUSE. (OVER)

V ENEMY WORKS 1. Much talking in woods at 52.10-35.20 and many wagons apparently entering these woods from north side. VI GENERAL IMPRESSIONS. (a) General increase of enemy artillery fire all along Sector. (b) Visibility good A.M. poor P.M. VII MISCELLANEOUS. (a) Dense smoke in woods at 51.80 - 33.80 7:10 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. (b) Continuous flares sent up by enemy at night. (c) More red propaganda balloons seen in air. (d) Cicilians in MITTLACH apparently signalling German O.Ps. with smoke puffs. VIII ACTIVITY OF OUR OWN TROOPS (a) Combat patrol 18 men from G.C. 10 out 300 meters not enemy met. Four other patrols. (b) Artillery - little activity (c) M.G. practically nil (d) T.M. very small (e) Work begun on T.M. emplacements. NOTE: About 20% duds reported out of 80 German 210 and 105 shells.
