(a) Signals -- 11:47 P.M. Two minutes after sending upward rocket machine gun fired on KIOSK. (b) Smoke -- No new places observed (c) Small red paper balloon fell in s/s D. Nothing attached. Officer Commanding 129th M.G. Bn C. Company 1. The 3 officers. 159 other ranks under your command will entrain as detailed in paragraph 4. 2. O's C. units must be very careful that every man in their units is told the station and "Point of Entrainment" before marching off. Most of the numerous cases of men left behind have occured through neglect of this precaution. 3. The entrance to Points Nos. 1, 2, and 4 is at No. 70, Cours de la Republique, and to Point 3 at the Boulevard d'Harfleur. 4. Entrain at {Gare des Marchandises} Point No. 4. Time 4-00 Date 22/5/[1918] Ration party (Strength, 1 N.C.O. 15 men) to report to the Officer i/c Detail Issue Store:- {Gare des Marchandises} Point No. 4 Time 3.30 Date 22/5/[1918] 5. Attention is directed to the "Special Orders for Units passing through Havre Base," especially paragraph 6, and to "Notes for Entrainment." Any further information regarding entrainment can be obtained from the D.A.D.R.T., [ms illegible: 2 wds] The Orderly Room Sergeants, if any, should report to this office, as under, ready in all respects for immediate entrainment on being posted to the D.A.G., 3rd Echelon, for duty. Notes for Entrainment at Havre. 1. O.C. Units will receive instructions from Base Commandant's office as to the "Point" of entrainment and the hour at which it commences. They should reconnoitre their route and arrange that the unit does not arrive more than 30 minutes before the time. (a) They will see that all lettering on vehicles showing unit to which they belong is pasted out. (b) See that waterbottles are filled as there is no drinking water for me at the "Points." (Horses can, however, be watered.) (c) Detail a ration party as ordered. (Rations for all "Points" except 6 are drawn at Point 4. Rations for Point 6 are drawn at the W. end of the Platform.) (d) Send a representative of unit to assist in allotment of trucks, etc. He should arrive 15 minutes before unit. (e) Caution their men, and especially the advanced party, that no equipment, etc., is to be taken off or arms piled on arrival at "Point" except at the place indicated by the R.T.O. (f) Insure that cooking pots, also canvas water buckets and "breast ropes" (for horse trucks) are handy on arrival at "Point." The following are suitable for "breast ropes" (see next para.) :- (i) Drag-ropes -- 2 per truck. (ii) Built-up picketing ropes
