Newspaper clipping regarding Champ Clark - n.d.

Transcript

SPEAKER CLARK DID NOT VOTE AGAINST THE WAR Champ Clark, speaker of the national house of representatives, in a letter to the editor, says The Observer did not tell the truth when it made the statement that he voted against the war. Speaker Clark did vote for the declaration of war, the writer having in mind his vote on other questions affecting the war. We accept Speaker Clark’s statement of the facts, and gladly make the correction, as we do not desire to misrepresent his official acts, even though we do differ widely from him on many matters of public policy.
