[Law Offices of Wetmore & Jenner letterhead] May 8, 1916 James R. Harris, Esq., Busch-Sulzer Bros.-Diesel Engine Co. 2nd & Utah Streets, St. Louis, [Missouri] Dear Mr. Harris:- Re NEW SUBMARINE ENGINE. I thank you for yours of May 4th, which I shall attend to at the first opportunity. With reference to my personal examination of the new engine, I have only just received from Washington the selection of patents ordered the day you were here, showing the pertinent art on this subject and which is rather more voluminous than I had expected. I want an opportunity to study it, especially those patents that I do not happen to be familiar with, before going to St. Louis. I am obliged to go to Washington tonight, to argue a case there, and immediately on my return will be in a position to write you a definite date as to when I may be expected, and in the meantime I will have been able to study the patents referred to. Yours very truly D E Kimball [stamp] To MR. J.R. HARRIS MAY 15 1916 M.R.
