Broz, Joe Album: World War I

Joseph G. Broz served as a Corporal in the United States Air Force during World War I. He was originally a member of the 27th Aero Squadron, Company K and later served as an engineering aid of the 1st Pursuit Group. He was inducted at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, Missouri on April 29, 1917 and trained at Kelly Field in Texas. Broz compiled this scrapbook in 1979 using original photographs, newspaper clippings, and memorabilia to tell the story of his Unit’s experiences during WWI. Photographs feature members of the 27th Aero Squadron in training camps and overseas, including American Aces such as Eddie Rickenbacker and Frank Luke.
