Transcript

FROM Profession W. Macneile Dixon. (University of Glasgow.) S, Buckingham Gate, London, S.W., England. 22nd February, 1917. My dear Mr. Breckenridge, During the absence of Sir Gilbert Parker in the United States I am carrying on his work here, and your letter of January 20th has come into my hands. I am extremely glad to hear that the documents which Sir Gilbert Parker has sent to you from time to time have been found valuable and interesting, and I shall have great pleasure in continuing to send you such as are at our disposal in the future. I shall be much pleased to add the name of the Rev. Fielding Marvin to the list of those who receive these pamphlets, and I hope he will find them useful. I am very glad to feel that the overwhelming sympathy of the American people is on our side. We all wish that the war might be brought to a close, but we are absolutely convinced that peace now would be a German victory, and that it is far better to continue the war than to submit to that. With kind greetings, I remain, Yours very truly, W. Macneile Dixon.
