Bouser, Harry M. Collection

Harry M. Bouser was born in Carthage, Missouri and was 26 years old when he enlisted for service in the Navy on April 19, 1917. He trained in San Francisco, California before being assigned to the U.S.S. President Lincoln, a ship conscripted into U.S. Naval service as a transport ship after it was captured from the Germans. On May 31, 1918 the U.S.S President Lincoln was sunk by a German submarine and Harry floated aboard a liferaft for 18 hours before being rescued. 

This collection contains letters, photographs, and postcards related to the military service of Harry M. Bouser.
