Description Joseph Bergman was born in Przeworsk, Poland, Dec 13, 1879. He graduated from the University of Berlin in 1905 and became a physician. Bergman became a German Citizen in 1913. During WWI, he served with the Austrian Army and was decorated with the Merit of the Golden Crown Medal by the Emperor of Austria for bravery. In 1918, he was discharged from the Austrian Army. This is his discharge certificate.
