La Borboule, France November 17, 1918 Dear Home, My stay only lasts two more days then I have to get to work again. I have never enjoyed any thing so much before as I have this trip. I will be sorry when I have to leave but I have been ready to go back to the company ever since last Monday. I am anxious to see what is going on closer to the front. I thought perhaps I would get to see some one I knew while here but I have not found a one. Geo. Busch and E. French are the only two I have seen since being in France. Our outfit

was near them the last time up but it was not possible to visit them. I was also very near the Bathory farm N. of M. but could see no one. The front line is no place to be visiting. I never did hear where Sam Avery was but he was probably some where close. The papers are already talking about sending us home and it may be that I will be among the first to cross. It will be a great day when we can all see the U.S. again. Have been too busy to think about it so far but being as it is all over now every one will be looking forward to the day of returning. When I reach the states I I may have to go to Minneapolis before I get to come home but I will lose very little time in seeing you if I do. I have told you all there was to tell in my former letters from the place and what I have been doing since writing last is just the same so must close for the time. Will write as soon as I get back to my company. As ever Hamp. Cpl Hampton B. Ball Co. B 326 Inf. A.E.F. [censor signature]
