June 23, 1918 Dear Home, I have moved since I wrote you last. Had a nice ride in a side door pullman which I shall always remember. I got two letters from you just before I left the other place. One was from Fan, written May 2nd, and the other was from Jo written just after she got there. I suppose Belle and the kids are home by this time. Howard must be having the time of his life with that pony but what will you do with it when he is gone. Who has moved into the Trail horse and who bought Mr. Trail out? I know every one was glad when they moved off the hill and I hope no one moves in like them. It will be lonesome for every one with -

out all of that noise. Has Buck and family moved to the farm yet. If they leave things ought to be quiet in the old town this summer. When you write be sure and tell me everything that is going on. I would like to write you a book but the censor would not want to read it and I doubt very much if he would pass it so I wont write it. However all of you must write. Tell me all about the farm, Woolfolks, Harry, Lesil and the old lady. They wont have to worry about Alex this summer but I suppose there will be something else. Perhaps it will be Bill Howell. This is a peculiar place I am in now. The two things I see most are mud and rain. I suppose

there is always mud and so far it has rained every day. The sun is shining bright now but it is hard telling what will happen before the day is gone. I had better stop now before I say something I ought not to. Send me the Free Press once in a while so I can get all the news. As ever, Hamp
