I understand tho that it will not lengthen our stay in France. I only hope the dope is right. I will just about be leaving France when you get this letter. Nothing has happened the past week so there is very little news. My school is still going

on and I hope it will continue till I leave here. I was in Prathoy yesterday and had a big feed of beef steak with French fried potatoes coffee, jam and bread. I have found an old woman there who is willing to do any thing for us. She is just like the old woman I found last August. I think I told you about her. I go there every Saturday night for supper. Prathoy is about five miles from here and we have to walk. I also took a long walk this morning and got back to late for dinner. I tried to get something to eat in three different towns but there was nothing doing. It is awful hard to buy

So Leisle has started on the war path again. I wonder if she be as [ms illegible: 1 wd] as she was before. Tell Bill Howell that I am for him. If he can get the old lady he is welcome to her but when he is dead he had better not meet up with Burt. If he does there will be frizz flying around that place for some time. I wish I could be there to see Mary and her

Tell Mary Lee & Thelma I wrote to them before I left the states and also while I was on pass and that I never heard from either. I also wrote Vernie a long letter and one to Jen. Maybe they were lost and if they were they all just S.O.L. when it comes to hearing from me. Well I am going to stop and just on my leggins for supper. We have to eat in full dress here when they can catch us. Love to all Hamp [censor signature]
