Sunday April 21 1918 Dear Home, This is a cold rainy Sunday but it is the last I spend here so I should worry. Nothing has happned since the last letter I wrote except I strained the muscles in my leg and can hardly walk. I cant bend my ankle at all now but I think it will be all O.K. soon. I finished up my washing last night so now have everything clean. You ought to see me wash clothes. All I have is a cake of soap a scrub brush and a flat board. I lay the clothes on the board and then scrub just like you would scrub

scrub the floor. I get them clean but it is a little hard on the clothes. Had to stop there to go to the hospital. While there I got my leg fixed up and also go another small pox scratch. This makes five since I got into the army. I thot that I was going to [New York] again this week but won't now as no more passes will be issued. While we are here [ms crossed out] to. However my mail will reach me just the same. After this my letters may be censored so write accordingly. There must be lots doing in Troy lately. Why

did they close Dr. M. out? Wish you would send me the Free Press for the last few weeks as I have not gotten any for some time. I have not gotten any mail addressed to Camp Dodge yet. Dont know where it is but guess it will catch me some time. I am sending my insurance date and another slip. Keep the sheet because it contains all instructions, read carefully. Put the other slip with my other war stuff. I am getting quiet a collection of dope now. Maybe in a hundred years they will be worth something Must close now Hamp. P.S. My mail will reach me from here until further notice.
