Trench Watch

Details

Title Trench Watch
Description A “trench watch” was a traditional wrist watch with a metal face guard to protect the watch face from scratching or other damage caused by extended time in the elements of a warzone. The face guard could be lifted to give the wearer a clearer view of the time. This example is unique in that it features 24 karat gold and the leather is in exceptional condition suggesting it may have been replaced sometime in the post war era, or barely worn during the war itself, or by a person who saw limited outdoor duty.
