Greene County WWI Veterans Monument

Description

Stone obelisk dedicated to the memory of the men of Greene County, Missouri who died in service during WWI. The monument was erected by the Business Womens Club, Kiwanis Club, Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, Rotary Club, and the University Clubs of Springfield, Missouri. The monument was dedicated at Grant Beach Park in Springfield, Missouri on November 12, 1924, with more than 1000 in attendance. 

In 2024 the Ozark Mountain Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution moved the monument to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
