Headquarters 89th Division May 4, 1918. Memorandum: 1. Company and detachment commanders will have officers and enlisted men of their commands mail a copy of this memorandum to their homes and other correspondents before leaving the United States. 2. It is forbidden for any indication to be given of the station of any officer or soldier on overseas duty, or of the name or date of departure of any vessel carrying troops. 3. Letters intended for those on overseas duty should be addressed as follows: Form for addressing members of the Expeditionary Forces. Return to Mr. John Smith, Street, Kansas City, Kansas Private John Smith, CO.
