[January] 18th [1919] Dear Mr. Reinhardt: I received your most Welcomed letter dated [December] 23rd and was certainly pleased to hear that the Influenza is almost a thing of the past sure must of had a tough spell of it. Very glad to hear that Drug clerks have little better hours and also they have received an increase in salary for I sure think they have it coming Don’t you? I hardly know wether or not I will return to the retail drug business, have almost

We are having very nice weather at present, I just returned from a two weeks leave and had a dandy time, visited Nice, Monte Carlo, where we went through the famous gambling house, and we also went to the Italian frontier and on our way back we stopped at Gay “Paree” where you know a fellow can always have a wonderful time. [page 3] hear Uncle Frank Bredemann hasn’t received any letters from me, I wrote several times and wondered why I received no answers glad they are all in good health. Haven’t the least idea when we will get our sailing orders but we are certainly hoping to land in the good old U.S.A. real soon, there is no place like home. Well I will close for this time hoping to hear from you again soon.

Description | Vincent J. Grishammer sent a letter to Dr. Henry Milton Whelpley. Dr. Whelpley was the dean of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and editor of the Meyer Brothers Druggist magazine. Grishammer wrote about his travels throughout Europe. He also explained that he still didn’t know when he would be back in the US. This letter was written on Y.M.C.A. letterhead. |
