May 13, [1919] Paris, France Mr. [Henry Milton] Whelpley Dear Sir:- I just recieved a welcome letter and a Meyer Brothers Druggist from you and was very happly to know I was still remembered by you and to hear the St. Louis [College] of Pharmacy was getting along alright, also to get the Druggist as I havnt saw one for a year and a half and it is very interesting to me. I have been in France a year now and have been working in a hospital Pharmacy most of the time and have found

the work very interesting. Since I have been over here I have took a great deal of notice of the French Pharmacist’s to See their method of running a pharmacy it is quite different to ours and I believe I like the good old American way the best, a Pharmacist is protected a great deal more over here by the government than we are at home and that seems one good advantage they have. I hope to return to America soon and expect to go back to collage this fall and will appreciate whatever you can do for me as I have lost out nearly two years in the army and will have
