Camp Funston, [Kansas] [October] 9, 1917 Dear Doctor I arrived here ok after and 18 hours train ride which I enjoyed very much, the weather was cool But after we had a cold shower bath at 4 am I felt warm they give us lots of warm clothing and covers for our bed we also get good meals and more than we can eat I have not had much drilling as yet, but what I had I enjoyed very much, To night we had a professor from the University of Kansas giving us an experiment and Lecture in liquid as it was very interesting, They lots of amusements out here, they have foot Ball basket ball, a victrola, piano a Y.M.C.A., and every evening they have something doing, Yours Truly Pvit Roy E Knepper 50th Co. 164th Depot Brigade Camp Funston [Kansas] -
