Baker Field [New York] [August] 19, 1918 Dr. [Henry Milton] Whelpley Dear Sir: - Received the Meyer [Brothers] Druggist also the write up you gave me. Sure was good, have just finished my five week course at the arrival School of Photography at Rochester and now at Baker Field a small aviation camp. to finish my course and then go to some larger aviation camp saturday. I never did realize when I went to college when I learned microstophy that I would never have a chance to use it, but I sure do appreciate it now, as we studied lenses, cromatic and special abberation and the spectrum and the knowledge I obtained at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy surely helped me a great deal to make a good average.
