Scotts field Belleville, [Illinois] Squadron - D - [August 5, 1918] Dear Doctor I am with Uncle Sam now. and wish you would forward my Meyer [Brothers] Druggist to me I did not get my last two copies I enlisted, didn’t wait to the drafted. I never received the $3.00 for [ms illegible: 2 wds] flowers from the [St. Louis College of Pharmacy] Alumanas but you see that it is sent to Ernest Beck Lebanon [Missouri] he is is the florist I purchased them from. Thanks for past favor I remain E.J. Knight, Ph.G.

Description | E. J. Knight sent this letter to Dr. Henry Milton Whelpley. Dr. Whelpley was the dean of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and editor of the Meyer Brothers Druggist magazine. In this letter, Knight wrote that he had enlisted in the military instead of waiting for the draft. This letter was written on Y.M.C.A. letterhead. |
