I should like very much to meet Maj Rauold. It is a very hard matter for me to see him or meet him as I would have to go through three non-commissioned officers and then through three commissioned officers. However with a letter of introduction from you addressed to him I would be able to go to him direct without

If it is not asking too much of you I would like very much for you to write him a personal letter concerning my ability as a pharmacist and also regarding the number of years you have known me and concerning my character. I have had my papers in Washington for five weeks to be transfered to the Hospital Corps here and have never heard from them. They were put in by

Col. Freeman the commanding officer of the hospital corps here & a letter from you asking Maj Rauold to look into the matter might help me very materially. As you probably know there is a world of red tape to go through to be transfered. I should feel myself forever indebted to you if I can obtain your assistance in this matter. I shall see you at my earliest convenience & also visit the school soon. Thanking you very sincerely for all you have done for me

Description | Charles W. Robinson sent this letter to Dr. Henry Milton Whelpley. Dr. Whelpley was the dean of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and editor of the Meyer Brothers Druggist magazine. Robinson asked Dr. Whelpley to write him a letter of introduction to an officer he believed could help him get promoted. This letter was written on Knights of Columbus letterhead. |
