Elsberry, [Missouri] [January] 10, 1919. Prof. [Henry Milton] Whelpley St. Louis [Missouri] Dear Prof:- I have just lately been released from the U.S. Ship Susquehanna. I am very anscious to finish my course in Pharmacy If possible I would like to start in with my old class. Please advise me what to do. I have a fine opening here in my town to start up to date drug store so you see I am anscious to to get my Ph.G. Hoping to hear from you as soon as possible. Our ship brought back 3000 soldiers. Coming back we were out seventeen days. The sea was very rough and we had a heavy storm that lasted six

days. We were well protected having three submarine chasers to lead the way and two battle wagons to bring up the rear. Please advise me as soon as possible I hope it is not too late to finish this year. Sincerely yours J. Bryan Cannon

Description | Bryon J. Cannon sent this letter to Dr. Henry Milton Whelpley. Dr. Whelpley was the dean of the St. Louis College of Pharmacy and editor of the Meyer Brothers Druggist magazine. Cannon wrote that he was just released from the U.S.S. Susquehanna. He also mentioned his desire to return to the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. This letter was written on Cannon Dry Goods Company letterhead. |
