W.J. WEAVER PROPRIETER R. SCOTT WEAVER ASST. MANAGER. HOTEL UMPQUA ROSEBERG, ORGEON 8/23/1919 Dear Mother, We left Sacramento at 9 oclock this morning and landed here about 3:30 P.M. Everything is going fine so far and I believe it will be a fine trip. I saw all kinds of Forest Fires as we came over the mountains this afternoon. Couldn’t see the ground for the smoke for miles. Flew right along the side of Mount Shasta.
