[YMCA letterhead]May 3 1918 Dear Mamma, Papa & Brothers:- I will will write a few lines this evening to let you know I am O.K. and still at Boston. I havent the least idea when I will leave I am glad [Thomas] took a notion to enlist and I hope he will like it. It was to bad the oats got nipped but may be they will come out if we have the right kind of weather from now on. No it doesent look very good over on the other side but it reads better this week than it did last & I like all the rest hope it keeps on looking for us

[YMCA letterhead]Teddy R. was here yesterday and he made us quite a talk. he said he thought all would get to see service that were now in and then some. Well I have got to stop for now. I got the last papers O.K. today that you sent. Well write soon With Love to all
