[Camp Funston] Tuesday Dear Grandma: You sure are good to me - almost too good for the returns you get. Thank you for that big box of clothes which came today. Those towels were especially welcome. time tomorrow. We sure hope so. A letter came yesterday from Paul Vickers. He is in Ann Arbor yet and was turned down for the Reserve Corps because he was going to an engineering school and also because of youth! I

Description | Charles Stevenson wrote to his grandma and thanked her for her package and told her that the quarantine would soon be lifted. Stevenson enlisted in Kansas City, Missouri and became attached to Company A, 314th Engineers at Camp Funston, Kansas. Stevenson was shipped overseas on June 12, 1918 where he remained for the duration of the war. He arrived back in the United States on May 26, 1919. |
