Welschbillig, Germany, March 12, 1919 Dear Folks: It seems that a couple of weeks have passed since I last wrote to you, and I guess that is about correct. I have been a little bit busier than usual, as the company clerk went to Paris on a pass and I have been doing a little bit more than my share. However, he came back yesterday - and here I am already with a little spare time on my hands. Along with him went Phil Stone and Kenneth - and from the reports they brought back they certainlyn had a good old time. Description | Charles Stevenson sent this letter to his grandparents about his work as first sergeant and life in Germany. Stevenson enlisted in Kansas City, Missouri and became attached to Company A, 314th Engineers at Camp Funston, Kansas. Stevenson was shipped overseas on June 12, 1918 where he remained for the duration of the war. He arrived back in the United States on May 26, 1919. |
