[St. Louis Car Company letterhead] St. Louis, U.S.A., [October] 16 [1915] St. Louis Car Company, St. Louis, [Missouri] Gentlemen;- It is hereby understood and agreed that when certain provisions embodied in contract dated [October] 15th between EDWIN L. REED & COMPANY, a Corporation of Chicago, [Illinois], and the ST. LOUIS CAR COMPANY, a Corporation of St. Louis, [Missouri] have been carried out, that I will agree to accompany sample Hydro-Aeroplane, together with a competent aviator, to England, to demonstrate and prove its capabilities, all as provided for in Paragraph 4 of contract referred to above.
