[American Red Cross letterhead] December Twenty-sixth 1918 Miss Bethine Pouk, 1601 Linwood, Kansas City, Missouri., My dear Miss Plouk:- I desire at this time to extend to you my sincere expressions of appreciation for your helpfulness and co-operation in connection with the work assigned by the Kansas City Chapter, American Red Cross to the Christmas Parcels Committee. I know you will be glad to know that you Committee sent 22, 941 packages to our boys overseas. Of this number 6,198 Christmas parcels went to friendless soldiers. This was a big job and the credit for doing it well is partly due to your as a member of this committee.
