Sept 25 – 17 Dear Ma – : Rec’d your letter of [September] 3 shure glad to hear from you I guess you will get most of my letters. no your letters are not cencored. I am in the best of health. I just got through oiling my Hobb nail Shoes. We are having some pretty nice fall weather, I bought my self some nice fruit, to-day. All the boys are busy writeing To-day was mail day. we all look forward to

I have a new “nick name” they call me “Peggy” or Peg "Mail day." I wish you would find out how much I owe Mrs Slagle for Somers music lessons get to gether and figure it up and I will settle for them, and dont let her miss any. I hope next month to cancle the balance due Kimball’s. I want to pay for every lesson no mater how many when I send the money for them it will be all in a single amt. I havent ben doing much with French lately as I havent had the chance Don’t send me any presents as I dont think I will get them. so just keep the presents at home and nobody will be losser you can send all the papers, you Can. I can send no pictures as it is against orders We are playing the Jolly Fellows Waltz to-night also Paderwishes Mineute we have a fine band and a good leader The leader dosent play but used to play Clar. I wrote Mr Thompson some thime ago to tune the Piano if he dident get the letter get him to I am in corespondence With Mr Langston and will settle O.K.

Of course it dosent make much difference in the winter I would like to get a set of Bohem Systems Clarinets in Paris as I can get them 40% cheaper than in U.S. but I guess I wont.
