I just got out of the Hospital yesterday I cant talk above a whisper but feel better I dont think I will do any Duty With the band for some time as my lungs are too weak. I got a lot of letters on my return so I will have to answer them I dont know why [Walter Timmons] got sent away so soon you know there are many things pulled off in the army one dosent understand. [Salvation Army] The have the best place here I allways write at the [Salvation Army] or Y.M.C.A. which ever hapens to be the best established There are 2 pretty girls here and you know that makes a difference. I wrote Miss Brown a short letter she can answer if she likes. (“Son thien Pour moi”.) I dont care). The Phonograph is playing one of my pieces It makes me want to be back. It will be a long time I am afraid. It was the [Red Cross] that had us in Italy we played for many Hospitals as well as the Royalties. If you go to [Kansas City] be shure and go the “Royal Theatre” go at night I have a friend playing there. see how you like the cello player and the violinist. The Royal is on main between 10th and 11th just a few steps from the car line you can get the last car home after the show. Tell Mr. Thompson hello if you see him. Of the Band were in the Hospital. Yes I saw many flowers in Italy the just showered them on us as we paraded the streets I wrote F.K. a letter about 3 mo ago I took pains and dident misspel (doubtful) a word and seen that all the gramictal errors were omitted and she swore some one else wrote it. I cant write a good letter because I dont hardly ever feel like it Well I must close With Love Walter [censor signature]
