Douglas [Arizona] 5-28-17 Dear Ma - : Well we expect to move sooner than expected we dont know just which way we will go if we go to [San Francisco] I expect to be on the way to Russia in 1 wk I am sending home the rest of my music c.o.d. I dident have any money to pay the express every thing is torn up we have drawn equipment for Cold Weather thats Makes Me think we will leave imeaditly it may be We Will be stationed in New York state a while

[Page 2] We expect to leave tomorow it will probaly be a Wk before the trunk arrives I am sending the key to the little trunk it contains nothing but music, solos mostly I am just fine hope you liked my pictures I will be attached to the hospital Corps if we go on the field I hope Germany can be soon licked I read in the paper where they are useing their dead to make soap and Oil. Well I must close as we all have to work getting every thing bored up I am leaving my Violin here in store With the Gov’t instruments we cary Our band instruments along I must close With love Walter Dont Write
