Description | A page from the Lutheran Witness. In this edition both Adolf J. Schliesser and his son Luther are highlighted. Luther was one of the first Chaplains to join the Chaplain Corps during World War II. The elder Schliesser was the first pastor of the Lutheran Church in Missouri to be appointed into the Army as a Chaplain. Schliesser served as a Chaplain for German prisoners of war during World War I, and saw military service on the Mexican Border. |
